Lecture series SEBBM´s Fiftieth Anniversary
To celebrate SEBBM´s fiftieth anniversary, we have organized a series of twelve lectures that will take place in Madrid's emblematic buildings. Its objectives are to review the history of the SEBBM, publicize its participation and contributions to the Spanish society of the past 50 years, bringing the figures of Santiago Ramon y Cajal, Severo Ochoa and Alberto Sols to the general public, and analyze from different prospects the present and future of scientific research.
The generous support from Biblioteca Nacional de España, CaixaForum Madrid, Círculo de Bellas Artes, Facultad de Ciencias Químicas de la UCM, Instituto Cervantes, Museo de América, Museo Nacional de Ciencias Naturales, Museo Nacional de Ciencia y Tecnología, Real Academia de Ciencias Exactas, Físicas y Naturales, Real Academia de Farmacia and Real Jardín Botánico, has been instrumental in organizing the cycle. So too has been the support of the lecturers who include Drs Jesús Ávila, Carmen Castresana, César de Haro, Carlos Gancedo, Luis Franco, Catalina Lara, Carlos López-Otín, Federico Mayor Zaragoza, María Teresa Miras, Juan Luis Ramos and Margarita Salas, and art restorers María Alonso and Begoña Mosquera. We also want to thank CIDI+ Biomed for filming the conferences.
